We are seeking a postdoctoral associate to join Laboratory for AI, Robotics and Automation (LARA) in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Davis. The position will require in-depth knowledge and experience with vision and radar systems and application of deep learning in processing of visual and point cloud data. The focus will be on traffic control specially in work zones. LARA is a well-funded laboratory with close ties to industry, working towards industry 4.0 and the next generation of automation and robotic systems. In addition to fundamental and theoretical research, LARA is active in a diverse range of applications e.g., in automotive, industrial health monitoring, highway maintenance and construction, medicine and biomedical imaging.

Qualifications: Candidates must hold a PhD in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related fields with research and hands-on experience in machine learning and vision/radar systems. Candidates must also have strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
